                  FRENCH FESTIVAL AT SRI VIS

An event to remember, a time to cherish, it was a mesmerizing flow of thoughts. The auditorium at SVIS was beaming with a whiff of French culture on the morning of 4th Dec, 2018. Students from across the city came forth with an insightful, yet colourful array of presentations to showcase the Indo French confluence.

The school welcomed and played host to some of the prestigious schools of Delhi and NCR, which included:

                  1. DPS, RK Puram
                  2. Tagore International School, Vasant Vihar, New Delhi
                  3. Pathways World School, Aravali, Gurugram
                  4. Red Roses Public School, Saket, New Delhi
                  5. Arwachin International School, Dilshad Garden
                  6. Mamta Modern School, Vikas Puri, New Delhi
                  7. K.R Mangalam World School, Vaishali, Ghaziabad
                  8. Bal Bharti Public School, Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi

The ideas took form of PowerPoint Presentations, short plays, models cum paintings, songs and so on.

The event took off with a lamp lighting ceremony by the School Principal Mrs Nita Arora, Vice Principal Mrs Shivani Gupta and the French teachers of Sri VIS- Ms. Aastha and Ms. Harpreet.

The event gained momentum through a stupendous dance performance that had an amalgamation of French and Indian lyrics. This was followed by a sequential depiction of topics that connect the two nations- Be it solar energy as a sustainable source of energy to the exploration of different French and Indian sites representing their culture and heritage.

Grade 9 learners of Sri VIS reflected on some of the peculiar similarities of the two nations through a skit that depicted the famous India Gate and its uncanny resemblance to L’ Arc de Triomphe in Paris and the Qutub Minar at Delhi, which comes close to the Eiffel tower at Paris in its conical structure.

Mr Jitender from the French Embassy was a Guest of Honour and he was suitably impressed with the organisation and participation.

Beautiful souvenirs were gifted to each member of the participating teams.
